In this event, which is being held since the beginning of the year, the people from Parrita pay tribute to the mule, the animal that allowed the pioneers to conquer the wild coastal plain dedicated once to banana production and later to oil palm production.

In addition to being a historically agricultural canton, Parrita has made a significant turn towards tourism thanks to its extensive and beautiful beaches such as Esterillos and Playa Bandera and its unbeatable location on the Costa Rican Pacific coast.

La Julieta, the main community of the Parrita canton is located 24 kilometers away from Quepos (that’s the canton where the Manuel Antonio National Park is located) and the tourist city of Jacó. It is an ideal point to travel along the coastal road visiting villages and natural paradises in the way.
