Uvita, Osa

Uvita is a beautiful coastal community, located in Osa, one of the most abundant Costa Rican cantons in terms of species of flora and fauna, spectacular beaches and dreamy panoramic views.

Within Uvita there are two large beaches – Hermosa and Uvita – that form a whale-tail-shaped tombolo, right in the area where whales arrive from the distant Arctic waters to complete their breeding cycle.

This historic community, which in ancient times served as a port for the arrival of the colonizers of the Valle de El General coming from Puntarenas, is also the entrance to the Ballena Marine National Park.

It is located just 16 kilometers southeast of Dominical, the closest coastal town to Pérez Zeledón, on the coastal route that connects the cities of Quepos and Puerto Cortés.

Because of its natural attractions and the dynamics of its inhabitants, it is becoming one of Costa Rica’s top tourist destinations. Infrastructure development here is remarkable.
